The Bicycle Film Festival is a global movement that now for the second time settles in Istanbul. After a successful edition last year, this year a four-day festival with film, bicycle tours and parties will promote a healthy lifestyle. The Consulate General is the main sponsor of the event and will host movies in the Dutch Chapel, as well as the closing reception in the garden of the Consulate. Moreover, as part of the festival, a popular Dutch DJ will perform in the Küçükçiftcilik Park at September 14.

For more than 30 years, the British Council has played a major role in building cultural bridges between the UK and Syria, and in supporting an active and pluralist arts scene in the country. This grants programme aims to build on that record by supporting the many Syrian artists who have been forced to leave Syria and continue their work outside the country.

Successful proposals will be selected based on how strongly they contribute to one or more of the following four core objectives of the programme:

In September Mediamatic opened up its space to people in the Netherlands who wanted to support the protestors in Turkey. Weekly meetings resulted in the idea to turn Mediamatic's exhibition space into a public park. A free and open place for gathering and freedom of speech; a mirror to the Gezi park. PARK, therefore, is not an exhibition in the normal sense, but a bottom-up gathering of people and ideas. Some of which resulted in artworks, others in projects or a forum.
