Emre Sihan Kaleli
Emre Sihan Kaleli was born in 1987, in Ankara, Turkey. At his 18 he graduated from the State Conservatory of Antalya (high school degree). Right after that he moved to Uzbekistan to study composition at the State Conservatory. In 2009, he was awarded with the 1st prize at the 5th Pre-Art Competition for Young Composers (Zurich) for his piece Processions. During four years of education in Uzbekistan he constantly collaborated with the Omnibus Ensemble (Tashkent).
In 2010 he was admitted to the Conservatory of Amsterdam as a Master composition student. By now his music was performed in Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Germany, Georgia and the Netherlands by such ensembles as Camerata Variabile (Switzerland), the Pre-Art Soloists (Switzerland), the Omnibus Ensemble (Uzbekistan), the Convergence Ensemble (Georgia) and the Nieuw Ensemble (the Netherlands). In Autumn 2011, his two pieces are going to be performed in such prestigious festivals as Gaudeamus Muziekweek (the Netherlands) and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK).
Kaleli, currently studies under Willem Jeths and Richard Ayres at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and works at the Nieuw Ensemble (Amsterdam) as artistic assistant.
