Teike Asselbergs (born in 1973, Amersfoort, The Netherlands) is the chief-editor of the Cultural Mapping Turkey, which was commissioned by the Fund for Contemporary Visual Arts, Design and Architecture (Fonds BKVB), Mondriaan Foundation, The Performing Arts Fund (NFPK), Cultural Participation Fund (FCP) en the Achitecture Fund (Stimuleringsfonds voor Architectuur). Teike has graduated from the Audio Visual (VAV) department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and took a Master's degree in Fine Art from the Sandberg Institute, both in Amsterdam. Teike has given (guest-)lectures at art academies and universities in the Netherlands and Turkey in departments of contemporary art, design, design management, economics, communication and architecture.
In 1997 she founded the initiative Orgacom with fellow artist Elias Tieleman (nl/eng). Orgacom has exhibited in various musea and galleries and received attention from various national and local newspapers as well as international magazines, radio, public and professional media and art&design magazines. After she moved to Turkey in 2006, where she joined her Turkish husband, she left the boards of the organisations she was chairing in the Netherlands: TransArtists , STROOM, HTV News (free artist-run-newspaper) and Young Designers + Industry , and currently organizes cultural projects in Turkey and helps professional groups that want to work in or visit istanbul.
